Hello Everybody
the last days of February were busy regarding the MANTA 21 maiden runs.
Imre and me in 100km distance but roughly in same wind conditions exactly same time put the new yacht in water.
Saturday I made 2h constant sailing in very shifty and turbulent wind B and C rig test, on Sunday calmed down to A rig rather.
My feeling is very good. Sharp and consistent on upwind (verrry sharp) and well absorbing tail gusts on downwind. If the back getting constant blow, the downwind run is nice fast sinusoida oscillation of the hull, if get strong blow, the nosediving is controllable. Its relatively easy to remove the bow from water with a rude jibe (sure the sail servo cries, but that its job).
On downwind its well visible, on the lifted chine at the bow area the wave sliding up and falling down. So less washed area on the bow sides. Less drag.
Imre and me agreed, that the maneuvering is easier, due to the fact, that approx 5cm of the bow keel time to time gets out from water and in tack it does not break the move. So tacking is faster, easier, less time and energy consumer.
My hull was totally dry!!!! Well made Imre!!!!
The new M21 is an evolution!!!! Well made Andreas!!!!
